Certificates and awards

High quality is part of our philosophy. The production processes are strictly controlled and certified.

The highest quality of Wedel products has its origins from the very existence of the E.Wedel brand. Jan Wedel - the grandson of the company's founder, was very restrictive in the area of hygiene in the factory, but also personally supervised each transport of cocoa beans. He examined the samples, assessed their ripeness and quality, and decided which type of chocolate to use for a given grain. Invariably, the E.Wedel brand for the production of its chocolate sweets uses only the highest quality cocoa beans from Ghana, still using traditional technology, which guarantees a unique taste.

The guarantee of the best quality is due to the entire supply chain and all stages of production. It is confirmed by certificates and is a priority for us. Controls at every stage of production and restrictions in the area of hygiene are necessary to maintain the highest level of food safety.

PARTNERSHIPS AND DECLARATIONS

In order to respond to the current environmental challenges and consumer needs in this area, we act for sustainable development. We initiate and are a member of industry partnerships that pursue specific goals and undertake commitments fulfilled as part of our CSR strategy (including those related to the responsible sourcing of raw materials and packaging).

Transparency and ethical approach also distinguish our work with business partners - in this direction, we were the first advertiser in Poland to sign the "White Book" of the SAR Marketing Communication Industry. Thus, we have committed ourselves to adhere to tendering standards, partnership, good communication, knowledge exchange, joint responsibility for costs, efficiency and quality of cooperation with suppliers of marketing services.

POLISH COALITION FOR SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL (PKZOP)

In June 2019, our company joined the Polish Coalition for Sustainable Palm Oil as a founding member. The goal of the Coalition, established under the agenda of WWF, is to stop deforestation and further environmental degradation caused by extensive agriculture.

Sustainable palm oil is key to reducing the risk of overexploitation of tropical forests and the harmful effects of this raw material on forest animal species. Plantations that are awarded the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certificate do not lead to deforestation, and thus - to the loss of wildlife habitats. At the same time, they guarantee decent working conditions for local communities.

The strategic goal of PKZOP is to achieve the level of 100% sustainable palm oil in Poland by 2023 at the latest.

The coalition involved various groups of stakeholders in the dialogue, including representatives of the world of science, industry organizations, certification bodies, non-governmental organizations and the government.
