E.WEDEL Powered by electricity from wind farms 2020

23.03.2022

LOTTE Wedel has signed a contract with TAURON for the purchase of electricity from wind farms. The transition to using 100% renewable electricity is part of Wedel's planned CSR course of action, according to which the company responds to local and global challenges as a responsible producer, employer and partner.
- Climate change is one of the most important global challenges today. Our goal is responsible management of environmental impact and undertaking long-term ecological initiatives, among others by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The transition to using only renewable energy is another step within our CSR strategy and "climate action", in line with global sustainable development goals. This is possible thanks to the cooperation with our partner, TAURON Sprzedaż, which has tailored the offer to our needs - explains Maciej Herman, Managing Director of LOTTE Wedel.
Conducting business activities with care for the environment results from the tradition and inspiration of the company's founders, especially Jan Wedel. In addition to climate projects, Wedel is involved in local initiatives such as the Wedel Run, the Polish-German Gardens project, aimed at revitalizing parts of the Skaryszewski Park, hives on the roof of the Wedel factory, etc. The company also runs educational campaigns for employees on environmental issues and organizes activation campaigns for the local community.
